The buyer checks that you understood the site constraints: co-activity, access, hours, keeping the building in service. Generic phasing is spotted immediately.

Assigned human and material resources

15 a 30 %

Named supervision: site manager and foreman identified with their references. Equipment must be listed with specifications, not by category.

Safety, environment and waste management

10 a 25 %

This criterion is rising since construction waste sorting rules. Announced recovery rates must be backed by named channels.

Mistakes that get a bid rejected

Specific to this sector, not generic advice.

  • Providing a Gantt chart with no critical path or contractual milestones. The buyer looks for zone handover dates, not a decorative timeline.
  • Omitting the health and safety plan or postponing it when the rules require it at bid submission. A frequent irregularity in works contracts.
  • Listing site references with no amount, year or client. An unverifiable reference does not count.

Required documents and qualifications

  • Qualibat : Qualification by trade and technical level. Often required or strongly valued in works contracts.
  • Assurance decennale : Mandatory on construction works. The certificate must cover the exact activities of the lot.
  • Certification environnementale : ISO 14001 or equivalent. Increasingly requested on public renovation contracts.
